We are proud to announce our new business partnership with Carbon Fiber 500. Carbon Fiber 500 is a locally owned business dedicated to the design and manufacturing of body kits made of carbon fiber or fiberglass. We stared our new partnership on the right foot with the installation of a carbon fiber front lip on a 2015 Subaru WRX. Fit and finish of this front lip is second to none. All carbon fiber pieces are UV protected with the high quality gloss of clear coat. Installation only takes a few minutes but the benefits of this front lip will last for years. The improvement on the WRX is not only cosmetic, the frontal aerodynamics have improved as well. This WRX will be able to displace air more efficiently without any drag penalty. Velocity Factor – 2015 Subaru Impreza STI Modifying the newest member in the STI series

2015 Subaru STI

At Velocity Factor we were trusted to enhance the performance of a brand new 2015 STI. This is a new car, new territory, blank canvas. Obvious ideas for bolt on parts came to mind but as with all upgrades we perform, we always consult the vehicle’s owner and make recommendations based on what the desired end result. For this particular STI, the owner wanted to improve looks, handling, horsepower and get a more aggressive tone to the factory exhaust system. To address the handling requirements, we installed a set of H&R Sport Springs and 20mm Perrin Performance wheel spacers. The lowered springs provide a better feel of the road in all conditions. Acceleration, braking and cornering are all improved as the center of gravity of the STI now sits lower than the factory. Looks are also improved as the new lowered stance is finished with 20mm Perrin Performance wheel spacers at all four corners. Wheel spacers widens the track at each axle providing better stability under all conditions. It eliminates the need to install wider and therefore heavier tires to get the same result. We tackled horsepower and engine note with the installation of a Cobb Downpipe ending on a Invidia Q300 Exhaust System with Titanium tips. Engine efficiency is increased as the exhaust gases will be expelled with far less restriction when compared to the factory exhaust. Less restriction helps the turbocharger spools faster. As a bonus, the Invidia Q300 gives the STI that aggressive note the owner was looking for and the titanium tips complete the look of the rear of the car. With the lowered springs, wheel spacers and titanium exhaust tips, this STI already had it looks improved over the factory stock. We didn’t stopped there, we installed an APR front air dam constructed of lightweight Carbon Fiber. The APR front air dam complements the traditional roof high rear wing on the STI. As an added benefit, the lowered suspension enhances the aerodynamic effect of the air dam. We loved working on this STI and are already looking forward to work on STIs. Who’s next?…
