This is a custom intake that we fabricated in-house at Velocity Factor for 2006 – 2008 VW GTi.

Here we have a 2008 BMW 335i, our team at Velocity Factor we put new wheels and tires, new spark plugs, Active Autowerke 3 inch downpipe, and a CPE front mount intercooler with oil cooler.

Wheels

the rims that we put are the Alufelgen SF-71. The SF-71 was Alugelgen’s first attempt to bring  something fresh to the motor sport mesh style wheel. Filets in the spoke create light balance,bounce and shade of color.

Downpipe

Active Autowerke 335 Downpipe (N54)

A turbo impeller wheel speed is mostly limited by the exhaust back pressure within the system. If one could eliminate some or most of this exhaust back pressure, the turbo will spool that much faster and effortlessly resulting in quicker engine revs and increase HP. The Active Autowerke Signature down pipe is designed with the intent to maximize in power. The down pipes are created with the least amount of restrictions possible by utilizing a full 3″ piping throughout with the least amount of bends possible, that is impressive when compared to the factory diameter of 2.50″. What you will experience is a faster, more responsive engine because the turbo impeller now has the ability to spool that much faster. The end result is more power. For added durability, factory like support braces are also implemented to alleviate stresses upon the turbos. Made from 304 stainless throughout ensures a robust and durable exhaust that will provide trouble free performance with the longevity to match. All flanges are 304 stainless with the 0.060″ wall thickness (~1.5 m.m.)

Active Autowerke 3" downpipe

Intercooler

BMW n54 ∆Core™ Front Mount Intercooler with oil cooler kit.

At the heart of the FMIC, we feature a 3” thick bar and plate design that is capable of supporting up to 750hp. We also provide replacement piping for pre and post-intercooler piping. The n54 intercooler is measured at 5.5″ x  6″ x 21″ which is a substantial upgrade from the stock unit. We opted for this size to maximize surface area while eliminating the cutting required for the end-user to install the intercooler.  Our FMIC posted a staggering 83% efficiency @6800 RPM whereas the stock unit was 58%. We could say our intercooler is 95% efficient but that isn’t a relative portion of the test and we believe it’s misleading.

STILLEN Ceramic Coated Header for 2007 350Z HR Motor

Today we are doing a header install on a HR motor for a 2007 350z we are installing the STILLEN 370z Headers T304 ceramic coated headers they have a much bigger and smoother merge collector which allows the exhaust flow to come out a lot smoother, therefor allowing the car to make more horse power. The car is also getting high flow cats and its got an Invidia exhaust system, so its going to have a full exhaust. Other work done by us in this car is suspension, intake and exhaust work.

For Instance, if you where to install a down-pipe onto a MazdaSpeed 3 or a Subaru STI, you might get something called “boost creep”.  Boost creep is when the turbo spools up too much and makes more boost than it is supposed to.  If the ECU is not flashed with the proper tune to account for this drastic increase in airflow, it can lead to significant problems.  The ECU will be adding fuel at the wrong spots and timing will be wrong as well.  This can lead to problems such as detonation, which can seriously damage your engine.  However, if after installing your down-pipe the ECU is flashed using the Cobb AccessPort, this won’t be a problem.  With an ECU flash that has been properly calibrated for your mods, the car will have the proper fueling and timing, over boost and boost creep will not be an issue, and the Check Engine Light will not turn on.  With a Cobb AccessPort you will feel comfortable and confident knowing that you can step on the gas as hard as you want, and the car will not break.

Vossen Wheels

Here at Velocity Factor we specialize in high end components for your vehicle that can withstand the weather and the punishment that out vehicles can see in our daily basis. One of the most important when you are modifying your car, making it unique or customized is the wheels. Wheels change the entire appearance of the car. One of the things that we like to bring up here once in a while is that wheels make the car. One of the manufacturers that we have chosen among some of the elite wheels are Vossen wheels. Vossen Wheels like to make the wheels more specific to your car to get that perfect flush fit. They are made with really good quality standards, they are very innovative as far as their designs go, you really don’t see very many wheels that look like Vossen Wheels. Vossen Wheels they tend to take more of a concave look which gives it like a deeper more three dimensional look specially in cars that are rear wheel drive and that makes the car really really nice. Vossen Wheels are seen more on Lexus, BMW, Mercedes Benz, Nissan usually import and European cars, however they do have some domestic cars such as Corvettes, Mustangs and Cadillac.

Vossen wheels also make forged wheels. Forged wheels is a whole different process, this is a process that takes a 9 ton press, a lot of heat a lot of manufacturer work. Not all their wheels are forged, but they do have forged wheels and having forged wheels puts Vossen wheels on a much higher playing field then your regular wheels making company.

GReddy Exhaust systems are about the best exhaust systems on the market because they are made of fully polished stainless-steal piping and mufflers. They feature a legendary really deep sound, so therefore they don’t create a obnoxious loud resonance , when you are driving your car you feel like your driving a true sports car. GReddy has been around for 20 plus years in the US and has proven that their exhaust systems and other products are of superior quality. The new exhaust systems available from GReddy are the Spectrum Elite SP2 which is based of their Legendary SP meaning Street Performance exhaust system, and its designed for more of a low tone street-able sound, which makes it street legal. Forge Motorsport Diverter Valve for Evolution 8, 9, & 10 Forge RS (Forge FMDVRSR)

Forge motorsport also sells a very good valve for all the Lancer Evolutions. It’s called the Forge RS. It recirculates the air back so that the car does not jump in between shifts and doesn’t stall. It works very very well. All Forge Motorsport products are CNC machined and polished by machine and anodized clear so that you don’t have to keep polishing the valves and they stay at a really good luster and are protected from corrosion throughout their lifetime. This is very important in the high-heat engine bay environment where moisture from rain and condensation is common.

Forge Motorsport valve 007P (Forge FMDV007P)

Forge Motorsport has a valve called the 007P (Forge FMDV007P). It is the best replacement diverter valve for all VW / Audi applications. VW / Audi cars have a plastic diverter valve made by bosh. It’s really good for cars that are stock, but when you boost up a car or even cars that have a lot of miles, upgrading to a piston type metal valve made by Forge is much better then the stock plastic and rubber diaphragm bosh valve. This Valve is one of the best Valves that Forge makes for all VW / Audi cars.
